How to Register for Pag-IBIG Membership (New Enrollment)
Before you start
Registration is entirely online for most people, through the Virtual Pag-IBIG portal at
pagibigfundservices.com. Confirm you’re on that exact official domain before entering any personal
information — phishing sites mimicking government portals are common enough to be worth a second
look at the address bar.
Have these ready before you begin, since the form doesn’t save partial progress well:
- A valid government-issued ID
- Your PSA birth certificate (for your legal name exactly as registered)
- Present and permanent address
- Employer details, if employed (company name, address, contact number)
- Your monthly compensation
- Beneficiary details — this matters for death benefit purposes, so don’t skip it

The registration steps
- Go to Virtual Pag-IBIG and select Register or New Member Application.
- Fill out the electronic Membership Registration Form — personal details, permanent address, member type (employed, self-employed, OFW, or voluntary), employer details if applicable, monthly compensation, and beneficiaries.
- Double-check every field before submitting. This is the single highest-leverage step — an incorrect entry here (especially your legal name) is the most common source of problems in a future loan application, months or years down the line.
- Submit. You’ll immediately receive a Registration Tracking Number (RTN) — save this somewhere durable, not just a screenshot you might lose.

Getting your MID number
Your Membership ID (MID) number — the permanent 12-digit identifier you’ll use for every future transaction — is issued after your registration processes. If it isn’t shown immediately, you have a few ways to retrieve it:
- Virtual Pag-IBIG’s “Verify MID No.” tool, using your RTN, last name, and date of birth
- The 24/7 hotline at 8724-4244 (8-PAG-IBIG), with identity verification questions
- The official Pag-IBIG Fund Facebook Page, via direct message with your full name, birthdate, and RTN

The most common error, and how to avoid it
A red error reading something like “Record suggests that you may have registered previously” usually means a record already exists under your identity — often from years earlier, sometimes registered by a past employer without you realizing it. Don’t create a second registration to work around this. A duplicate record causes real downstream problems: contributions can post to the wrong account, and future loan or withdrawal applications get flagged for the mismatch. If you hit this error, use the MID recovery steps above instead of trying to register fresh.
After you’re registered
With your MID in hand, you’re a full member — meaning Regular Savings contributions can begin (if you’re voluntary/self-employed, this is on you to start; if employed, your employer’s payroll handles it), and every other program becomes available to you. A natural next step for most new members: decide whether to open an MP2 account alongside the mandatory Regular Savings, since Regular Savings alone is capped fairly low regardless of income.

Frequently asked questions
What do I get at the end of registration?
A Registration Tracking Number (RTN) immediately upon submission, followed by your permanent 12-digit Membership ID (MID) number once your registration is processed — this can take anywhere from immediately to a few days depending on the Fund's processing volume.
What if the system says I'm already registered?
This is a common error, usually meaning you (or an employer, on your behalf) were registered previously — even years ago — under details that don't quite match what you just entered. Don't create a second registration. Use the MID recovery steps below instead, since having two records under one identity causes real problems later with contributions and claims.
Do I need to register if my employer already did it for me?
Most employers register new hires automatically as part of onboarding. Check with HR first — if you already have an MID, registering again creates a duplicate record, which is exactly the kind of mismatch that causes issues down the line.
How accurate does my information need to be?
Very. Incorrect information — especially a name that doesn't exactly match your birth certificate — is the most common cause of registration and later loan-application issues. Double-check every field before submitting, since corrections after the fact require a separate, more involved update process.
Is there a minimum income to register?
Employed members are generally covered once earning above a low minimum threshold set by Pag-IBIG. Self-employed, voluntary, and OFW members can register regardless of specific income level, since membership in those categories is elective rather than a payroll-triggered requirement.
