What this calculates

This projects the maturity value of a fixed monthly MP2 contribution, assuming dividends are reinvested and compound every month at the rate you choose. It's the fast, single-scenario version of the full MP2 Savings Planner.

How to use it

  1. 1

Enter a monthly contribution amount (minimum ₱500), or tap a quick-amount chip.

  2. 2

Pick an assumed dividend rate — try the historical range (6–7.12%) rather than just the most recent one.

  3. 3

Pick a duration. MP2 runs in 5-year terms, so multiples of 5 map most naturally to real account behavior.

  4. 4

Read the maturity value, plus the contributions-vs-dividends split below it.

How the math works

Each month, the balance grows by the monthly rate, then that month's contribution is added — a standard compounding recurrence:

Balance = Previous Balance × (1 + r) + Monthly Contribution

where r is the annual rate ÷ 12, applied every month for the full duration.

This is a simplification worth knowing about: Pag-IBIG actually credits MP2 dividends once a year, based on your average daily balance — not monthly compounding at a flat rate. Monthly compounding is a reasonable approximation over a full year, but won't match your real statement to the peso. See how MP2 dividends are actually computed for the real mechanism.

What this assumes

  • One flat dividend rate for the entire duration — real rates are declared annually and have moved every year on record.
  • Reinvest/compounding mode, not the annual payout option (see the MP2 Planner for that comparison).
  • The exact same contribution amount, every month, without a gap.

What this doesn't check

  • Pag-IBIG's real annual, average-daily-balance dividend crediting — this uses monthly compounding as an approximation instead.
  • The ₱20,000,000 principal ceiling per member, or the proof-of-income requirement for large single remittances.
  • MP2's actual 5-year term structure — this projects to any duration you pick, not necessarily aligned to a real account's maturity date.

Frequently asked

How is this different from the full MP2 Savings Planner?

This calculator gives you the fast version — monthly contributions only, compounded. The full Planner adds Annual/Lump Sum/Variable modes, a health score, what-if scenarios, and a reinvest-vs-payout toggle.

What dividend rate should I assume?

MP2 dividend rates have ranged from 6.00% (2021) to 7.12% (2025) in recent years. Using a mid-range assumption like 6% gives a more conservative estimate than the most recent declared rate.

Are dividends compounding in this estimate?

Yes — this calculator assumes dividends are reinvested and compound monthly, which is the default MP2 behavior unless you choose the annual payout option.

What if I want to stop contributing partway through?

This calculator assumes a fixed monthly amount for the entire duration you select. If you plan to stop or change your contribution partway through, run two shorter calculations back-to-back instead — the balance from the first becomes a rough lump-sum starting point for the second.

What if the dividend rate changes next year?

It will — Pag-IBIG declares a new rate annually based on actual performance, and this calculator can only hold one rate flat for the whole period. Treat the result as a scenario at that specific rate, not a guarantee, and re-run it once a new rate is declared each year.

What if I want to save more than ₱20,000,000?

That's the ceiling on principal MP2 savings per member at any given time. If you're approaching it, the practical options are opening a second MP2 account or directing additional savings elsewhere — this calculator doesn't enforce that ceiling for you.

Why does the input have a ₱500 minimum?

That's Pag-IBIG's actual minimum per remittance — you can't open or fund an MP2 account below that amount, so the calculator matches the real constraint.
